Keyboarding Speed and Accuracy (MLB-2.3 states that students "Demonstrate effective keyboarding techniques to improve proficiency and apply these skills on multiple devices. It is only common sense that you are able to communicate through typing expediently. It is also common sense that taking longer to TYPE your assignment than it does to THINK UP AND CREATE your assignment is counterproductive. In that spirit, get on the band wagon and practice "the right way", so you're not using 1 finger the rest of your life. It doesn't take natural talent...just practice. Do this for your future self. The IDOE says 35WPM is a baseline, but just figure where you are, and then try to "beat your speed" each week. )
